John Varvatos, an American designer based in New York City, worked on men’s lines at Polo Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein before founding his eponymous brand in 1999 (launched in 2000), combining old-world artisanal tailoring with modern innovation to deliver luxury menswear with rock ’n’ roll and classic Americana influences, later expanding into footwear and accessories, fragrances, and musician collaborations, and earning recognition including the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year.
